Tired of folks complaining about Obama? (originally posted August 30, 2010)

Dr. Cornel West - in video, and premier journalist Annette John-Hall - in print, share two different, but very Black, views about President Obama's performance thus far.

It would not be incongruous to say that both, Cornell West and Annette John-Hall, are correct in their assessments of President Obama's accomplishments/failures. Annette John-Hall is simply saying that he inherited a tough situation, and a lot has been accomplished for the broader body politic thus far. Dr. West is pointing out that one segment of the population (one that is systemically and historically behind) is being hurt particularly bad by said tough situation, and Obama seems to have done nothing to assuage their plight. Dr. West is commenting from a more socio-political perspective. Annette John-Hall is commenting from a consumers politic. Both are right.

I'm not sure what you mean by "consumer" point of view…However, we're both in agreement that their comments represent two valid African American perspectives.
