Will US female soldiers be raped less now?

Dear friends,

ON the link below is an interesting editorial from the Philadelphia Inquirer, regarding the new rule of allowing females to be combat soldiers. The editorial board, correctly, mentions the tragic rape statistics for female soldiers. Yet, isn't it dumb and cowardly for the US armed forces' male rulers to now allow women into combat as a priority, but not first express the same vigor against sexual assaults on female soldiers, by even suggestimg that the sexual assaults may be lessened, if their male counterparts start realizing that, perhaps, females may be needed to save the latter's arses?  Huh? Moreover, is being cannon fodder for the benefit of corporate capitalism something about which females - or males, for that matter, should aspire?...smh Cheers!

I will share with you some interest dynamics that are not being shared publicly by any press. I attended the hearings on Jan 25 and before they were over, the press was interviewing for the "Leon Panetta" Ban on Women in Combat. Why, because some idiot women veterans informed the panel that they wanted "to get rid of the command of every perpetrator innvolved in a sexual assault. This line of questioned after 3-4 hours of testimony from 2 Generals, one being a 4-Star who offered 46 Resolutions on dealing with perpetrators and the issue of rape in the Air Force. 23 of those resolution were pertinent specific to the Lackland cases investigated over the past 11 months. These women veterans were so disrespectful to General Rice, the 4 Star and when asked about their comments both presenters were numb. The most important part of the hearings was when Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth was wheeled in and Congresswoman Speiers haul tailed out of the hearing room. The only comment Congresswoman Duckworth referenced was when she asked if the presenter would reiterate her position on 'getting rid of all of the command" who had been trained and the government had made major investments in their many years of service for their training. When the presenter says "yes' get rid of all of them. The Host immediately adjourned the hearings and the media begin questioned about the Ban on Women in Combat. These so called women veteran advocates didn't even know what had happened. They thought they were made famous and had a grand slam. They had no idea that they had blown a really good opportunity to commend Leon Panetta for all the attention and hard work that resulted in the 46 resolutions to address MST.
