Considering the fact that Republicans, especially, will use the issue of immigration to flare up the racist feelings of so many of the citizens in this country, I felt it, perhaps, instructive for us to peruse a piece that was written a year and a half ago, by the now-retired, legendary journalist Elmer Smith, formerly of the Philadelphia Daily News.
